Georgian Bay Wetwood Inc.We use the latest state-of-the-art technology including side-scan sonar, GPS mapping and high-speed automated barges to increase our efficiency and the number of board feet we are able to produce.

We specialize in the recovery, processing, and sales of Authentic Old Growth Hardwoods including oak, maple, birds eye maple, beech, and birch... some dating back to 1050 AD!

Premium softwood including red pine, hemlock and white pine are also recovered by Georgian Bay Wetwood and sold to customers all over the world...

To ensure that our exploration and recovery operations don't negatively affect the environment - including the beautiful, pure water in our Great Lakes, we employ monitoring and testing professionals that sample the water before, during and after our work is completed.

All of our provincial and federal permits are current, approved and respected. And our practices and equipment exceed the Canadian Coast Guard and legislative requirements.

Georgian Bay Wetwood was founded by owner Peter Hamelin, who realized the potential in the market for submerged lumber and decided to combine his experience in the diving recovery industry and love of the Georgian Bay area with the growing market for premium-quality submerged lumber.

It is notable that Peter is a direct descendent of the famous French explorer Jean Nicollet, who like Peter, spent his life exploring the Great Lakes area in search of untold treasures.
